Tipping is often seen as a way to help staff in the hospitality industry and also in speciality coffee to top up their wage so they can make a living.

It is our mission to promote healthy wages that our staff and generally the staff in the speciality coffee scene can build their lives with and support their families.

We would like to see this become a movement across the industry so that one day, tipping would be unnecessary.

The general idea is to eliminate tipping, by paying the staff higher wages and pass on the cost to customers by raising menu prices.

So the tip is now basically already included in the higher prices and allows us to pay the living wage.

Tipping is also often linked to gender inequality or even sexism and racism: for example; a young blonde pretty waitress might receive more tips than her older male colleague with a different cultural background.

We believe our coffee world is changing for the better.

And paying a fair wage in coffee shops, eliminating tipping and bringing healthy food and beverage into the quick-serve genre are part of a larger reordering of the entire system.
