Shakshuka means different shapes 🔹🔻🔳🔸🔴- in Tunisia, the poor people used to take everything they had in their kitchen and mix it with different shapes of onions, peppers, garlic, and tomatoes for a nice meal.
Shakshuka is a traditional flavorful dish that is simple yet delicious. You can have it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Traditionally, in tunisia people crack a few eggs into the shakshuka and let them cook in the mixture. Add some Labneh and fresh greens like parsley and coriander and you have a tasty and filling meal! The shakshuka can of course be enjoyed simply by itself with some good quality bread as a vegan treat. Freshly prepared and preserved in our jars, it has a shelf life of up to a year.
How it works: heat a small pan with a little drizzle of olive oil, pour in the mixture and let it cook at medium heat for ten minutes. If you want to add an egg, crack it in the middle and let it cook to your liking. To finish add a spoon of labneh on top. Enjoy with some nice quality flatbread.
